First Time Boondocking
Going Boondocking for the very first time. Sheryl and Rick joined us. So much fun!
Finally it was here: our first boondocking trip. We have been drawn to the Salton Sea and visited the area several times. It was during one of those day trips that we explored Salton City and found this wide open area behind the RV Park. This place is magic and we knew immediately that we wanted to spend a couple days there with the trailer. So, we convinced Cheryl and Rick to come with us and off we went.
What we have learned.
- Boondocking is fun (especially when you are in the middle of nowhere) and we want to do more of it.
- We need so little electricity that our batteries were always back to 100% in the afternoon. The one 190W solar panel is plenty.
- As long as we don’t need air-conditioning, not having electrical service is not a big issue.
- We still don’t know for how many days our water would last. But during the 2 days, we barely made a dent in it.
