Silver Sky Lodge and RV Park
U.S. 50
Eureka, NV 89316

Eureka! We were driving down RT 50 and found our stay for the night. In Eureka. This is a goldmine town, but the park is called Silver Sky. Beats me.

It was a good day of driving. Very little traffic and the roads were mostly good. Only RT93 was a little bumpy at times. We are so happy we took the route through Ely, NV instead of going to Reno via Las Vegas. It would have been a very different experience.

It’s amazing how much space there is in Nevada. A whole lot of nothing for hours, yet not boring at all. Well, maybe for JJ a little bit. She took at least 2 naps.

We went by Great Basin National Park and Wheeler Peak and saw many other snow-covered mountains on the way.

The last leg for today was on RT50. It’s a beautiful drive and called the “Lonliest Road in America”. I’m wondering if it’s called lonely because there is VERY little traffic or because you mostly drive through wilderness. Maybe both.
