The eighth working week starts soon, location? Lee Vining, CA. It situates next to the Mono Lake, half hour east of Yosemite. Today the air is cool, sunshine offers warmth. Even though our campground is right next to US395, office outside is pleasant and sufficient quiet.
As home, a few basic factors are important to us:
- grocery shopping
- walking/biking
- temperature range
For grocery shopping: in a “fancy” place, we seek for local things to try, produce, beer, cheese, etc. For simple market, like part of a gas station, we look for freshest things there. We are doing fairly.
For walking/biking, and including short driving, we have been pleasantly discovering interesting things in town. Joerg is good at get us out there to check things out before and after dinner.
- In St Regis, on one of our bike rides, we ran into a horse ride race: “Team Sorting”/Cutting. We said it ourselves, aha, that’s one way for people there to use their horse riding skills.
- At Arco, ID, we learned it is the first city in the world to use atomic energy to power the community. We found a special free campground: Honeys Park, next to ours, offers a special place for people to connect.
- In Wendover, UT, we discover Intrepid Potash, a company that harvests mineral with potassium, magnesium and sulfur, as fertilizers for organic farmers, among other usages.
Temperature: Living in a trailer, we like to stay in places where low T does not go below 40s. And ideally, high T is around 80s. At West Wendover, NV, the evening walks with the perfect, warm with slight breeze, ideal.
Hmm… What else? We had some interesting short or long conversations with some lovely strangers.
