We really liked our home for the first work week and definitely would come back here. There were no sewer hookups but a dump station right outside of the park. As we now know, we can easily survive for more than a week without emptying the black water tank.

Bayfield is not too far away from the RV park and a charming little town. It has grocery stores, good ice cream, and the best smoked fish we have eaten in a long time!

We went for a short bike ride after dinner. On the way back JJ fell and lost some memory. I was ahead going over the last hill and turned around when JJ did not show up. Then I found her on the bottom of the hill, sitting by the guard rail. Someone from the reservation had seen her, stopped, and called 911.

We went to the ER in Ashland that night, but they could not find anything wrong and had no explanation for what happened. Over the next days and after a phone conversation with JJ’s niece Francis, who is a neurologist, piece by piece we found the most likely explanation. JJ had TGA (Transient Global Amnesia), likely passed out, and then fell, which caused the damage to the front wheel of the bicycle. First we believed losing pressure in the front tire lead to the fall.

TGA is not that rare and the average age of people affected is 62. JJ recovered over the next days and weeks. All the memory from weeks and months ago came back. The only thing she does not remember is the time from before the fall all the way through an hour or so after it.
